Privacy Policy

AnalogAcademy helps parents give their kids paper-based math practice: you print worksheets, your kid solves them with a pencil, and our app grades a photo of the work. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: privacy@analogacademy.us.
Who this service is for
AnalogAcademy accounts are for parents and legal guardians. A parent creates the account and sets up profiles for their kids. Kids never create accounts and never give us an email address.
Information about you (the parent)
- Account details: your email address and full name.
- Optional sign-up answers: your kids' grade levels and how you heard about us.
- Consent record: when you agreed to this policy and which version you agreed to.
- Login security: one-time login codes (stored only as a scrambled hash, valid for 10 minutes) and login sessions.
Information about your kids
Everything about a kid is entered by you, the parent:
- a first name or nickname, grade level, and which grades they're allowed to practice;
- a 4-digit PIN they use to log in, which we store only as a salted hash, never as the PIN itself.
When your kid uses the app, we also keep:
- Worksheet photos. Photos of your kid's paper work are uploaded to our storage and automatically deleted from that storage after 7 days. They're used to grade that submission and show the marked-up page. Our AI provider also keeps a log of recent grading requests, which can include the photo, so we can look into grading mistakes. Older log entries are deleted automatically as new ones come in. We don't use photos to advertise or to build profiles of kids. Separately, our team keeps a small hand-picked set of worksheet photos to test how accurately we grade. We never add a photo from your account to that set without asking you by email first, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Grading results and progress. Which problems were right or wrong, the feedback shown, scores, practice time, experience points, streaks, and badges. These stay until you remove your kid from your account or ask us to delete your account.
Who can see your kids' information
- You, on your dashboard.
- Other grown-ups you invite to help manage your family. Once they accept, they see the same dashboard you do: your kids' names, practice results, and worksheet photos. They can also add or remove kids, change settings, and correct grades. Only invite people you trust with this.
- A small number of AnalogAcademy staff, only when needed to support you or keep the service working. For example, they can view a family's dashboard to investigate a problem.
We collect only what's needed to run practice and grading. We don't ask kids for personal information, and we don't let them contact anyone through the app.
How we use information
- To run the app: logging in, printing worksheets, grading photos with AI, and showing progress to you and your kid.
- To send you login codes and account emails, and, only if you turn it on, a weekly email summarizing your kids' practice.
- To keep the service safe: we use IP addresses temporarily to limit abuse (like too many login attempts) and to check for bots.
- To understand how parents find us, using the optional "how did you hear about us" answer.
We don't sell your or your kids' information, we don't show ads, and we don't use kids' information for advertising.
Service providers we use
- Cloudflare hosts the app and stores our database and worksheet photos. Photos are graded by AI models that run on Cloudflare (Workers AI, through Cloudflare AI Gateway, which keeps the grading request log described above). Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-ups and logins come from real people.
- Resend or Brevo deliver our emails (login and sign-up codes, invitations, and the optional weekly practice summary, which includes your kids' names and practice results).
These providers process information only to provide their service to us.
Children's privacy
We designed AnalogAcademy so that a parent is in control of their kid's information at every step, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). You create your kid's profile, you choose what name to use, and you can see your kid's practice history on your dashboard. You can review or delete your kid's information at any time:
- Removing a kid from your dashboard deletes that kid's profile, grading results, and progress.
- Or email privacy@analogacademy.us and we'll help.
Deleting your account
Email privacy@analogacademy.us from the email address on your account and we'll delete your account and your kids' information.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and ask for your agreement again.
